Spiritual Formation

“The spiritual life... is not achieved by denying one part of life for the sake of another. The spiritual life is achieved only by listening to all of life and learning to respond to each of its dimensions wholly and with integrity.” -Joan Chittister

At Christian Temple, we don't ask you to leave your brain at the door. Instead, we invite you to bring all of you into our midst, including your brain. Through our Spiritual Formation offerings, we seek to lean into this learning journey that is ongoing. We hope to never stop growing, never stop learning, and never stop being open to new experiences.

9 O'Clock Forum | Sundays | 9:00 a.m.
Our 9 O'Clock Forum is a virtual small group gathering, varying from 5 to 15 people. During the Forum, we discuss various contemporary and relevant topics to Christian faith today: What does it mean to be truly inclusive? What is a sanctuary church? Why do denominations matter in 2023? What is the liturgical year? How can we listen more fully to Black and Brown voices? New topics are always being added and newcomers are always welcome. Email the Office for the Zoom information.

Wednesday Bible Study | Wednesdays | 9:30 a.m.
On Wednesdays, a small group gathers on Zoom to discuss, in-depth, a topic from the Bible. Currently, this group is studying Professor David Brakke's exploration of the New Testament. Email the Office for the Zoom information.

Women's Group | 2nd Mondays | 6:30 p.m.
All who identify as women are invited to participate in our Women's Spirituality Group. Together, we incorporate diverse media, voices, and perspectives to help us reflect on our own spiritual growth. Currently, this group is studying Sue Monk Kidd's Book of Longings. Email the Office for the Zoom information.
