Community Blood Drive

As part of our outreach ministries and commitment to the community Christian Temple sponsors, in partnership with the American Red Cross, periodic community blood drives.  The blood drives are held in Fellowship Hall (at the rear of the church building); always on a Monday, beginning at 1:30 PM and closing at 7:00 PM.  The schedule dates for 2017 are:

Monday, March 6, 2017

Monday, June 12, 2017

Monday, September 11, 2017

Monday, December 11, 2017

For more information about eligibility or to schedule an appointment to donate at a Christian Temple Community Blood Drive, call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or go to http://www.redcrossblood.org.  Or, if you would rather schedule the appointment for the next blood drive with a Christian Temple Blood Drive member, contact Vaughn Ouellette at 410-313-9661.

For donors who have an appointment to donate and would like to save time with registration go to the American Red Cross “RapidPass” website:

http://www.Redcrossblood.org/rapidpass?utm_source=realmagnet&utm_medium=email&utm_content=body_rapidpass2&utm_campaign=BHQ_RapidPass_PreDrive_201508

to pre-read and complete the donation questions online the day of your donation.  Remember to print your certificate or send it to your cell phone and have it with you when you donate.

Who is eligible to donate blood?

Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in MD, PA and VA), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.  High school students and other donors younger than 19 years also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.  Please remember to bring your Red Cross blood donor card or other form of positive ID when you come to donate.

Why is it so important to donate blood?

  • The share of the U.S. population eligible to donate is less than 38 percent.
  • The number one reason donors say they give blood is because they “want to help others.”
  • Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood.
  • More than 38,000 blood donations are needed every day.
  • One donation can help save or sustain up to 3 lives.
  • The blood type most often requested by hospitals is Type O.
  • More than 1 million new people are diagnosed with cancer each year.  Many of them will need blood, sometimes daily, during their chemotherapy treatment.
