Mr. Powell grew up in Southern Maryland and graduated from Western Maryland (now McDaniel) College, in Westminster, MD in 1979. He received his Masters of Divinity degree from Christian Theological Seminary and was ordained into Christian ministry in 1983. He served Centenary Christian Church in Indianapolis for twelve years and was called to Christian Temple in 1995. His wife, Jayna, also an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), works for Chesapeake Habitat for Humanity. The Powells have three sons, Isaac (24), Micah (20), and Jordan (19). |
